Show Docent Volunteers Needed! I need docent volunteers for the following events. Look over the list and see if any suit you! Let me know when you can help, or if a whole daily team wants to volunteer for an event, I'm open to creative solutions! (I've put my ideal number of volunteers for each event in parenthesis) Ann Open House for the PAJE1rners Teachers Sept. 25 2-4 p.m. This open house will be for all Partners teachers and principals. I hope to have as many as 100 teachers attend (yeah, I know this is optimistic, but I did say "hope"). The open house will introduce Partners to the new teachers, let the teachers meet you, go on a sample docent tour ( like what they would get with their students), do a hands-on project, pick up their elements of art booklets, and learn about all the Museum has to offer! (6+ docents) Artful Afternoons (Third Saturdays) These are small family events (10-50 participants) who are coming for a hands-on activity. A docent volunteer would assist me in the workshop (no artistic training needed- just a good attitude!) and also be on hand to answer questions about the Museum. All of these workshops will be held at 2 p.m. and last about an hour. ( 1-2 docents per event) October 17- Maskmaking November 21 - Pastel still life January 16- Self-portraits February 20- TBD (I'm always open to new ideas ... got any?) March 20- TBD April 17- TBD May 15-TBD June 19-TBD Artful Afternoon- Family Day December 19, 1998 12-4 Winter Celebrations. This family day will center on a docent curated exhibition in the Hansen Gallery celebrating Cultural winter celebrations. There will be entertainment, hands-on activities and more. This is a major event with possibly 500-1000 people attending. ( 8+ docents, I need as many volunteers as possible volunteers usually "work" 1-2 hours (or more!). Write these dates down- I'll "hit" on you later.. :. Utah Arts Festival June 24-27, 1999 ( many docents) Artful Afternoon - Family Day July 17, 1999 12-4 The In's and Out's of Buildings - celebrating our future building rising from the muck (like a lotus flower - if you don't know what I mean, think "Asian"). |
