Show July Family Day is coming up!! v1ark your calendars and plan to come and help on our big family event on July 17, 1999 12-4. This event is based on architecture: The In's and Out's of Buildings. Plans are under way for various activities: *chalk drawing in the loading dock area *designing architectural columns *creating a building facade *designing and building (miniature) chairs and furniture *building sand castles (in baby pools- anyone got one we can borrow for the day?) *legos ( borrowed from the Children's Museum) *architectural treasure hunt in the Museum *walking architectural tour of campus **Entertainment is still being worked out, but possibly a demonstration of how music is architectural. ""' *Food: A giant cake designed to look like our new building!! and other refreshments. Please decide where you would like to help and let us know!! WE CAN USE HELP OF ANY KIND FROM PLANNING TO ACTUAL VOLUNTEERING THIS DAY!! Ann (and Heather who will be taking this enormous project on after Ann leaves ... ) STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING The last meeting for the 1998/99 year will be on June 2 at 9:30 a.m. Remember to park in the spots reserved for the Advisory Board. The security guard will have a list of your names. Docent Gallery Talks for June 2:00 p.m. June 6 Opening Reception for the Exhibition of Docent Art. June 20 Elisabeth Vigee Le Brun: Anne Dolowitz Utah State Office of Education Grant I am currently writing a grant to create a second set of posters for elementary schools. This set will complement the ones that were done two years ago on the Subjects of Art. The new posters will be in the categories of landscape, non-objective, still life and fantasy. If you are interested in helping me select the works and being involved in this project please come to an informal brown bag lunch on June 3 at 12:30 p.m. at the Museum. Bernadette NATIONAL DOCENT SYMPOSIUM 1999 Ring in the 21st Century: Preserving Tradition, Embracing Change, the National Docent Symposium for 1999, will be held in Philadelphia from October 3 - 5.
