Show Dec. 19 12-4 is the Winter Celebrations Family Day!!! ,.. HOLIDAY LUNCHEON oin your fellow docents in a Holiday Celebration on Thursday, December 10, 1998. A tour of the Salt Lake Buddhist Temple 211 West 100 South will be begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by lunch at The Mikado Japanese Restaurant 67 West 100 South 11 :30 a.m. Menu Appetizer: Gyoza (potstickers) Choice ofEntree: BeefTeriyaki, Chicken Teriyaki, Shrimp Tempura or Salmon Dessert: Ice Cream Beverages: Soda/Juice Cost: $10.00. R.S.V.P. to the Education Department no later than December 7th. I need help please. Come work for a while and then enjoy with your family the festivities centered around multicultural celebrations such as Kwanzaa, Chinese New Year, Ramadan (this year is celebrated in the winter), Chanukah, Christmas, Las Posadas and Winter Solstice. Some of the planned events: Performances L'Cheim ( a Russian singing group) Titis Kathol will do Balinese dancing Desert Orchid Dancers will do Middle Eastern ("belly") dancing. Hands-on fun for kids and families paper bag luminaries weaving placemats Storytelling Calligraphy station manned by Yoko Kamaya (one of our docents in training) A treasure hunt.. ... And more -- come and see! Please volunteer for this wonderful day! A (supply) Wish List To all our docents As you gather with your families we wish you the best in this season of celebrations. from Ann, Bernadette, Heather and Virginia We are always looking for donations to our supply cabinet-- so if you have any of these items, please bring them in! baggies (for model magic) glue sticks craft items: feathers, pipe cleaners, porn porns, sequins/spangles, colored buttons, etc. markers (water-based only please) raffia posterboard/ matt boards construction paper scrap paper for our "scrap boxes", especially any glittery, shiny, metallic or otherwise beautiful paper fabric scraps If in doubt, bring it in ... .I can chuck it for you- or you never know, it might be just the thing we're looking for!
