Although attendance is small-- usually a half dozen or so -- we want to continue them. They are an excellent way to use the research and to test approaches to an adult audience in a relaxed atmosphere. If you are not sure about oing a Gallery Talk why not speak to some of the docents who have given talks and get their feedback. So please sign up for the October to December talks. REPORT ON THE CHILDREN'S ART CI!ASSES The Department of Continuing Education Youth classes were quite successful. Several parents told me how happy they were to have their children in an environment like the Museum. The students also seem to have the same sentiments as expressed in the art work they did. We had an enrollment of 13 and they kept all of us hopping! My heartfelt thanks to Gay Lyn Sylvies who was my co-teacher and to the docents who helped us deal with their energy and creativity -Karin Brown, Yoko Kamaya, Jean Nuismer, Nancy Swanson and Mary-Kate Wynkoop. My gratitude also to Anne Dolowitz, Jan Miller and Gay Lyn for planing the activities with me. Having their sample projects to show did much to stimulate and guide the students in their own projects. THIRD SATURDAY Our next Third Saturday event will be on September 18 at 2:00. We will be making fruit and vegetable Clay Pots . The fruits of the harvest are not only being ea ten, they are in the Museum. People will see paintings of harvest scenes and still lifes of scrumptious fruits and vegetables. They can create their own clay pot in the form of a favorite fruit or vegetable (thanks to Marge Powis for the inspiration). We always have fun at these events so if you are interested in helping at this event please let Rebecca or Virginia know. Just ask Golda and Gordon Olson who helped us for our August Third Saturday. |
