Show Docent Dialogue The Utah Museum of Fine Arts University of Utah A Message from the Curator The following docents are scheduled to receive awards for service at the Spring Luncheon in June. If you feel that you should be receiving an award this spring, please let me know. They are held every Saturday, except for Third Saturday, at 2:00 and 3:30 p.m. Some of the themes that have been presented included "Animals in Our World": Janet Hough.,. Travel from Egypt to Europe via China and India to explore how artists have depicted domesticated animals in art. You are welcome to use any of the galleries since the theme for the Winter PARTners is Multicultural Art, but teachers have made requests that their students get to see the Traditional and Asian Arts exhibitions, so please make those a priority! The Hansen Gallery looks like a masquerade extravaganza and the kids will really enjoy examining the world of masks. Please remember to get here early in order to prepare the bags of Model Magic©. Thanks a million to the MIC docents! I only have 6 to do myself which is great! Thanks for all your feedback and patience! Keep up the great work! Professor Richard Paine, Department of Anthropology will speak from the archaeologist point of view. Ruth Kerr will follow with the docent's perspective. "Do You Hear What I Hear?": Tobi Terry. Come explore the sounds hidden in paintings. "Fashions": Helene Fairchild. What discoveries can be made about people by looking at what they wear? I~ |
