Show UTAH MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS . ' Docent Artwork Exhibition . June 6 - 27, 1999 The docents at the ·Utah Museum of Fine Arts are not only talented teachers, but talented ar~sts as well. In this unique exhibition, they get to show off their artwork and their talent. The artwork on display features a variety of media including, ·watercolor paintings, oil paintings, pencil drawings, potte~ and bronze sculptures. Not only ,ire the visual arts represented, but the performing arts of our docents are highlighted as well. Several docents are musicians who provided live entertainment during the opening reception on Sunday, June 6 ..Also some of the musical pieces displayed in the exhibit are odginal ·scores inspired by works of art in the_Museum. More than 60 docents support the educational programs at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts every year. Prior to being certified as an active docent, each volunteer is requi.red to participate in a one year training program. The dedication to their work is clearly ev~dent - several docents have served the Museum anywhere from ten to twenty years.
