Show Inside Out, 127 He said, "Big loss." I stared at him. "Oon 't you even care about it? Oon 't you even care about us anymore?" He looked up at me and then back down at his cereal. He shrugged and said, "Not really. Look, Terra, there's nothing we can do. If he wants to be gone, we're probably better off without him." And then, under his breath, "Jerk." And suddenly I lost it. "What's wrong with you?" I yelled. Joe looked up at me, stunned. "Why am I the only one trying here? Oon't you see that our family is falling apart? All you care about is those stupid new friends of yours that look like they are zombies or something. What-are you out getting drunk with them? You know better than that. What happened to you?" Joe stared at me. Then he pushed his chair out and stood up. Very calmly, he said, "You don't know anything. Terra. Nothing about anything." And he walked out. Oidn 't even bother to answer me. It was like he was a whole different person. |
