Show Inside Out, 37 Terra didn't answer. She never answered. Mom would babble on and on, as if she were afraid of the silence, and Terra would let her. Dad would let her too, when he was in the room, which was rarely. Mom talked and talked. But she never asked questions. Except for the flow of her chatter, the house was a ghost town. Notebook for Or. Scofield I know you would say that it's just Oad's way of dealing with things, this hiding out. But I'm not sure. I wonder if it's not just the accident. I wonder if it's his way of dealing with how Mom used to nag him. Before the accident, he was never home, and I think it was because of how she used to be on his case all the time. Now, he's home, but only in body. It's not that much different. I can't believe how much can change in just a year-poof, and the whole fan-damily deflates like a balloon. And I'm looking at the little shriveled plastic wondering if it was only air that made me think there was something there before. |
