Show Inside Out, 29 "Oh." "Women are just idiots for men," said Martina. "Parents are just screwed up. Everybody's screwed up in some way or another. I don't know any families that are really happy." Then the bell rang. Notebook for Or. Scofield We used to be a happy family. A t night sometimes I replay times when we were happy together. One of my favorites is from two or three years ago when we all went camping to Bear Lake. It was over Labor Oay weekend so the lake was really crowded. Mom had been worried about crowds and Oad had kept assuring her that even if it was crowded, it would still be fun. Fall was just starting, and there was a little nip in the air at night that made it just right for a campfire. I had never seen stars that bright before. Joe was still himself back then. We played Frisbee on the beach and waded a little. Joe even swam but I thought it was too cold. Oad rented a couple ofseadoos for a few hours, which was fun, even with the cold water. |
