Show Inside Out, 80 "Well, could you, ah, let your father know we're here?" Brother Angus asked. Brother Johnson's eyes were darting around the room like a trapped animal. Terra went to her parents' bedroom. "Dad, the home teachers are here." "Awwww," he said and clicked the remote to turn the TV off. "I guess they know I'm here, right?" "The TV was kind of loud," she answered. Then she went back to the living room. The men were still standing in the middle of the room, only now Brother Angus was holding Atticus and tickling him. "Cute little guy," he said. "What's his name?" "Atticus." "Oh, like the lawyer. Excellent. That's an awful big name for a little critter to live up to," he said. Terra liked him even more for knowing the book. "Hello, gentlemen," said Dad. The men turned to Dad, their hands out ready to shake. Brother Angus clutched Atticus with his left arm, but Atticus was squirmy and almost fell. "Whoops! Here, little guy, I'd better set you free," he said, setting the kitten down. Atticus made for Brother Johnson's shoes again. Terra scooped him up and sat down on the couch. Dad looked down at her. "I suppose you guys would like to sit down?" he asked. "Don't mind if I do!" said Brother Angus. He plopped down next to Terra with a grin. Brother Johnson sat down on Dad's favorite chair. Dad watched, then silently went to the kitchen and returned with a kitchen chair. |
