Show Chairman Sill briefly reviewed the history of the Home Economlcs practice house. As his term of office expires on REPORT ON HOME June 30, 1951, he has been desirous of completing his work with ECONOMICS the project by that time, so that construction could begin by Au- PRACTICE gust 1. He assured the Board, however, that if it so desires he HOUSE PROJECT would continue his activities with the project beyond that time. He reported a total of $21, 000 has been received in cash, and material and labor subscriptions amounting to $96, 000. In addition, a great .many other persons are giving consideration to subscribing to the project. A new site has been selected which is located south and a little east of the Bureau of Mines Building and north and a little east of Stadium Village. Following the report, Regent Browning paid high tribute to Chairman Sill and expressed pride in having been associated with him on the Board, following which he offered a motion that the Board compliment him for his splendid vision, courage and self-sacrifice in undertaking this commendable project. Regent, Bamberger seconded the motion. Regent Adam S. Bennion, with the approval of the mover of the motion and second added that the Board in addition to expressing appreciation to the Chairman, authorize him as Chairman of the Special Gifts Com- mittee of the Board of Directors of the Development Fund to continue his work until the project is completed. TRIBUTE T0 CHAIRMAN SILL FOR HIS WORK ON HOME ECONOMICS PRACTICE HOUSE PROJECT Regent Gibson stated that during a recent visit to the Office of Architects Ashton, Evans and Brazier, she had heard, very complimentary remarks on this highly commendable pro- ject being carried on by Regent Sill. This project represents the first organized effort by one person to make citizens conscious of their opportunities to do something for the State University.
