It was surely very considerate of you and the Board to make such a generous expression. Your recital of my associations with the University brings to my mind many happy memories. I shall always be grateful for the opportunities I have enjoyed in this great school and for what it has meant to me and my family. I hope that in some small measure I may be able to repay in useful service some part of the obligation I feel toward my State and its institutions.
