It was surely very considerate of you and the Board to make such a generous expression. Your recital of my associations with the University brings to my mind many happy memories. I shall always be grateful for the opportunities I have enjoyed in this great school and for what it has meant to me and my family. I hope that in some small measure I may be able to repay in useful service some part of the obligation I feel toward my State and its institutions. GEORGE THOMAS LEGARDA MEMORIAL COLLEGE The President reported receipt of a note from Mrs. George Thomas, gratefully acknowledging the Board's kind expression of sympathy in the death of Dr. George Thomas, former President of the University, which occurred on April 11, 1951. Funer- al services were conducted on Saturday, April 14, 1951, in Kingsbury Hall, University Campus. A letter from Legarda Memorial College in Manila, acknowledging the Board's kindness in making a gift to it of some used |
