Show If; 3 (N LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL ASKS INFORMATION asked for a lot of detail ed information, such as the area of classrooms, lawns, roadways, cost of maintenance, number of teachers of each rank, number of students, etc. He stated that this information has been prepared and would be submitted if the Board of Regents approved. The information would be ‘ used in an attempt to work out an equitable formula to estimate the budgetary needs of junior and senior colleges. Regent Romney moved that the board approve, Regent O'Connor seconded the motion which carried. The President expressed some reservations about the practicability of determining university needs by means of a PRESIDENT TO MEET WITH USAC PRESI- formula and felt that he could sit down with the President of the Utah State Agricultural College and arrive at a more accurate DENT estimate of the financial requirement of the senior colleges. Regent Bennion said that the board should encourage the two presidents to meet informally for this purpose. Regent Cox moved approval of the following contract, seconded by Regent Bennion and carried: CONTRACTS APPROVED Modification 2 of Contract on Upper -Air Research, No.W19-122ac 15, which increases consideration from .flODIFICATION 20F UPPER-AIR $95, 000 to $160, 000. "NT'RACT WITH VETERANS' ‘ ADMINISTRA- TION GIFTS ACCE PTED The contract withzthe Veterans' Administration on the GI Bill benefits was apprbved upon motion of Regent Browning, seconded by Regent Romney. The cOntract provides for a cost of $5. 75 per credit hour in the Law school, and $5. 81 per credit hour in the other schools. Regent Romney moved that the gifts listed in Appendix Two be accepted and that the usual letters of approval be sent Where needed, seconded by Regent O'Connor and passed. |
