| Abstract |
This collection contains bound volumes of minutes of the Board of Regents meetings, including accompanying materials, such as contracts, correspondence, meeting minutes of subordinate committees, and faculty newsletters. The Board of Regents historically served as the governing body of the University of Utah. In 1969 the name was changed to the Institutional Council (the State Board of Higher Education later adopted the name of State Board of Regents). In 1991 the Institutional Council became the current Board of Trustees. |

Eardley be compli- RECOGNIZED mented on the publication of his book "Structural Geology of North America". The President reported on a letter from the Secretary of State for the State Board of Examiners in which is requested information concerning the building needs of the University, in order that building funds may be allocated by the Board of Ex- aminers. In reply thereto the President had prepared an an- swer in'which he enumerated in detail the University's requirements and asked Board approval before submitting it to the Sec- retary of State. Regent O'Connor moved approval seconded by Regent Romney and carried. PRESIDENT'S LETTER TO STATE BOARD OF EXAMINERS Regent O'Connor reported that he and Mr. Woolf had called on Mr. Whittenburg, Chairman of the State Building Board, with respect to the removal and remodeling of the Geography Building (446 Annex) by the University under a force account.
