Show PRESIDENT AUTHORIZED TO FURNISH FACILITIES TO REMOVE MATERIAL FROM POLIO CENTER PROF. COUCH'S REQUEST FOR RELEASE FROM CONTRACT GRANTED requested the University to furnish a truck and driver to remove equipment stored in a University owned building but belonging to the Hospital for Crippling Diseases of Children into the new hospital just being completed. Inasmuch as the University has no funds to move equipment for outside agencies, the President posed the question of whether this could be considered as a mis- use of funds should the University undertake to perform this service. The University moved this equipment once from the Station Hospital at the time this building was taken over for remodelling into a dormitory. The Regents urged the administration of the University to cooperate by making a truck and driver available to the Hospital Board. A motion to this effect was made by Regent O‘Connor, and duly seconded and carried. The President reported he had received a communication from Mr. Sherman Couch, Associate Professor of Health, Phys- ical Education and Recreation, with respect to releasing him from his contract should he receive a definite offer for the posi- tion of Athletic Director of the USAC. Neilsen, head of the Department of Physical Education, is in Europe and also that Prof. Couch is an advanced teacher on the staff. Following a discussion, Regent O‘Connor moved that Prof. Couch be released from his contract in accordance with his (Couch) request if the position is offered him.
