Show 580- much discussion, it was finally recommended to Mr° Cannon that the architect draw plans for a men's dormitory, with space set aside for athletes. An architect has agreed to draw the plans at cost. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATIONS OF BUILDING COMMITTEE ON DORMITORIES AND ART CENTER Regent O'Connor recommended that all d0nated funds restricted to the dormitory be channeled through the Development Fund. He also recommended that the dormitory plans embrace the general building scheme on the upper campus, that they be drawn for a $1, 000, 000 building to house 300 men, and, in the event the federal government allocates money for such projects, the administration be ready to take advantage of the offer, Also reported by Regent O'Connor was approval of the final plans on the $200, 000 art center. ' Regent Browning moved that the recommendations of the Building Committee be approved by the Board; his motion was seconded by Regent Culp, and carried, - APPROVAL OF CHANGES IN COLLEGE OF PHARMACY REMOVAL OF UNIVERSITY PRESS TO NEW LOCATION On recommendation of the President, the Building Committee approved a request of Dean Hiner of the College of Pharmacy involving building changes in the gymnasium at a cost of $10, 000 to provide additional space for laboratory facilities, Regent O'Connor, in supporting the President's recommendation for approval of this request, commended Dean Hiner for his outstanding accomplishments and the fine rating of the Pharmacy College, Regent Romney thereupon moved. Board approval of this project, which was seconded by Regent Ballif and carried. On recommendation of the President and the Director of the Press, the Building Committee had previously approved the removal of the University Press to a new location, viz" Buildings 301 and 303, Fort Douglas, atia\dost of approxi- mately $10, 000, for which funds have already been provided in the budget. Regent Romney moved approval; her motion was seconded by Regent Ballif, and carried, COMMENDATION Regent Browning moved that Mr. George M. Cannon be TO MR. GEO. M complimented. on his aggressive approach to the dormitory program and that he be encouraged in his work, Regent BamCANNON berger seconded the motion, which carried.
