Show 3352 Aurand- 1377 FURTHER EXAMIATION BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q Just one question. I am still left in a little doubt as to why you made these notations on the Green river up to mile 34. Was it in contemplation of ascertaining whether you could bring supplies down from Greenriver to the junction and up to Indian canyon? A That was one reason. The second reason was, we found indications of structure from a point right at the junction of the river, and again at two places above, up as far as I went. Q So, if you had found that it was feasible to drill oil wells on the Green river, you were investigating the possibility of bringing supplies down from Greenriver as you brought down supplies from Moab, on the other river? A There was that possibility, yes sir. Q From your investigation, and your general expert knowledge as a geologist, are you optimistic or otherwise as to the presence of oil in the country adjacent to these rivers, here? A I would say I am rather pessimistic, that is, at present; I might not have been at that time. THE SPECIAL MASTER: That is all. |
