Show 3251 Dent- C 1276 employed for the trip. Q How many supplies -- how much of the supplies did you take with you on that trip from North wash down? A I understood that the supplies were expected to last about six days, and I think they would have. Q In weight, what would you say, Colonel, was the weight of your supplies? A We had about twelve gallons of gasoline -- Q That weighed about how much? A Weighed about eight pounds per gallon. We had an Out- board motor, weight, fifty pounds. We had three bed rolls, I imagine one hundred and twenty pounds for the three. We had rations for six days, which, say tea pounds per day, was sixty pounds, and kitchen equipment, and so forth, I think that would weigh one hundred pounds, and we had the three men. Do you wish them included? THE SPECIAL MASTER: We have been excluding passengers. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q There were the three passengers. By the way, you are a rather large man, aren't you,-- you and Mr. Loper are considerably above average weight? A I doubt if Mr. Loper is; I should think he and Mr. Ryan were one hundred and fifty apiece. |
