Show 3332 Aurand- D 1357 Indian Creek. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Why were you interested in determining the navigability to the mouth of Indian creek? A We had prospective oil acreage on Indian creek, about ten miles east of the Colorado river, and this was in hopes we could find a way to get transportation down the river to that point; BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q You had claims already in existence on the river, did you? A We had some on the river twenty miles below, but not down on the river as far as Indian creek. Q I mean, there were existing claims that were being drilled at that time? A Yes sir, or about to be. Q Or about to be drilled on the west side of the river? A On the east side of the river, yes sir. Q At that time you were using the large Moab boat to transport supplies? A As far as the first two structures, twenty- six miles down the river, our purpose was to see whether we could get landings, or whether there was a place we could get in and build a road from there on out. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Did your company eventually drill on that Indian creek acreage? |
