Show 3258 Dent- C 1283 when you are making a landing and have to do a whole lot of things. Q What was the object of making a notation of your hour of departure? A General information. Q Why was there not the same purpose in making a notation of the hour of your arrival? A The purpose was probably equal, but at the time of arriving the conditions were more confused. Q As a matter of fact, Colonel Dent, you had no serious difficulty in making that trip from North wash to Lee's Ferry, did you? A I would call it quite an adventure, when you ship ten gallons of water at one time, in one wave; I think that is quite a serious proposition. Q Well, now, if we will exclude that ten gallons of water, aside from that you wouldn't think you had any very serious difficulty in making that trip, would you? A It was a highly uncomfortable trip, and while we didn't ship that much water at any other time, we were constantly shipping water. Q It was raining during that trip? A A good part of the time it was raining. Q Of course that made it very uncomfortable? A That added to the discomfort. |
