Show 3209 Dent- D 1235 made no reference how serious the grounding was. At mile 55 1/ 2 a grounding, with 1 1/ 2 feet, both up and down. Sounding of 3 feet just above mile 55. A grounding about mile 54 1/ 4. A grounding at 53 3/ 4. A grounding at 53. We passed over that point without grounding coming up. Incidentally, these notes of groundings are not necessarily complete. In other words, I might have been doing something else on some occasion, that is, part way on the up trip. In the vicinity of Mile 52 I have two soundings, showing 7 and 5 feet respectively. At mile 50 1/ 4 I have a sounding of 5 feet. A mile 49 1/ 2 I have noted a heavy grounding going down, and grounding coming up. Mile 46 I note grounding. Mile 44 3/ 4, sounding of 3 feet. Mile 43 1/ 2, grounding. Mile 43, grounding. Mile 41 1/ 2, grounding, going up and down. Mile 41, grounding coming up, none going down. Mile 40 1/ 4, grounding. |
