Was it to look for oil lands, anything of that kind? A Yes sir, I had charge of two parties down in there looking for oil lands. Q You said you were there gathering data for persons who were making maps. The purpose of those maps was in connection with oil and gas exploration, exploration of oil, gas, and so forth? A On public lands. Q Who were the parties who were making the map? A One was under Mr. McKnight, one was under Mr. Baker. Q For what Department?
