A We went overland by automobile to Greenriver town, where I inspected the first riffle below the railroad bridge on the Green river. What was the character of that riffle as you saw it on that day -- by the way, have you got the date, you were there, so we can later on put in the stream flow? You were at Moab August 28th in the afternoon? A August 29th. The riffle in question at the time of my inspection showed a very considerable drop in the water surface there above and below the riffle, which drop I should estimate at least two and a half feet. The water was running through at a very rapid rads. A number of boulders were showing above the surface of the water in spots, and the surface of the water indicated clearly that others were below the surface. As compared to a survey of the riffle that had been made in 1909, the river had moved substantially its entire width. The river was, at the moment -- MR. FARNSWORTH: Just let me interrupt.
