Show 3206 Dent- D 1232 Q As I recall, practically every witness has testified as to that particular spot there was trouble, and that testimony extends over good many years. A The bars ordinarily form in the same general locality with each freshet. Q That is what I mean by a permanent bar. I don't mean the bar was always the same shape. A There is a bad wash comes but just below that bridge, and undoubtedly that is a bad place in the river. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q You say that the bar forms in the general locality. Do you find the deep water in the same locality over that bar? A Not along the same line across the bar, no. MR. FARNSWORTH: You are simply calling for his opinion on this, I take it. The witness can not know from knowledge, personal observation. THE SPECIAL MASTER: I think he is competent. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q May the position of the deep water change from time to time as the stage of the water changes either up or down? A Yes, during the cut- out stage, as the river is excavating a channel through the bar, it doesn't excavate that straight down; it ordinarily moves sideways in the course of excavation. Q All right. Just go right ahead, now. |
