Show 266 Visitors Max and Emily are standing at the foot of my bed, pad and paper in hand. "So I'll take care of the bathrooms," Max is saying, checking his writing "and Emily will call the children every day after school to make sure they don't need anything and help them out if they do." They will be my hands for me, holding onto my children when I cannot. Helping them hold onto what is important when they cannot. They have been by frequently to visit since I have been here this time and now they are telling me some specific things they are going to do to relieve my mind about home and the children while I am gone. Emily is laughing as she relates something my youngest said to her when she was there last. They like our children. They enjoy helping us. I do not know how to thank them. "Hey, you don't have to thank us," Max is saying. "Just hang in there and get well enough to go home." |
