Show 166 Nike Neurosurgeon Lisa has called ahead. I can tell by the brightly-colored poster-board signs in the hallway close to my new room that she has explained much of this disease and its precautions to those who will be caring for me here. I am reassured that perhaps things will be better here. I will miss Lisa. She came on shift as I was leaving. It was she who cleared the hallways for me in my wheelchair, Hy pushing. It was she who helped me transfer into the car and hugged us both a sincere good-bye. It was she who then called the hospital where I am now staying, speaking to them for more than an hour of the details concerning my care. I can tell from my greeting here, by these new nurses, that she has spoken warmly of me. |
