Show 217 The Letter "Dear Dr. Bruin, "I have been a patient many times at [your teaching hospital] though now I am seeking medical care here at [this regional hospital]. Inasmuch as I now have a point of reference by having a different experience with medical care down here, I have some concerns about the care being given at [your teaching hospital]..." I had already tried to write Dr. Jessop and Dr. Swinyard with no positive response. I am now writing a letter to the doctor at the teaching hospital who supervises all other doctors there. Faith has given me his name. Perhaps his name should have come bolded with the admission papers under the heading "How to File a Grievance," I am thinking, sarcastically, as I type. "...The [pump manufacturer] has published a troubleshooting protocol that they would like to see used..." I am not certain that Dr. Bruin will give any more attention to my concerns than anyone else up there, but at least I will try to explain the issue. I am no longer dependent on anyone at that hospital and their not liking what I have to say no longer threatens me, my health or my future. After all, I no longer have to be a "good patient" there.
