"OK," I am saying, hoping she can hear as deeply as she can talk. My movie choice turns out to be about a bunch of guys who live in a mental hospital who have somehow gotten themselves lost and without supervision at a crowded professional ball game. It is a formula movie - their mental health weaknesses become their strengths as they work together to solve their problems and find their way - but the formula works for us both. We laugh at their various dilemmas. Their dilemmas - our dilemmas. Whatever. We are laughing and that is all that matters. |
