Show 1883.] DR. O. BOETTGER ON NEW CLAUSILIA. 339 39. CLAUSILIA ARCADICA, Bttg., Mon. Claus.-Sect. Albinaria, p. 101, tab. 3. fig. 7 (maculosa, subsp. arcadica, Bttg., olim). For this fine-coloured shell I can now add the localities Mamoussa near Vostitsa (Consul Nik. Konemenos), Megaspileo near Kalavryta (Konemenos), both localities in the north of the Morea, and Mount Cylline, Sparta (Thiesse). Having in m y hands more copious material than during the publication of m y dissertation on the section Albinaria, I can now with more certainty give m y opinion on the specific value of this form. The diagnosis of this species may be :- Discrepans a C. maculosa, Desk., typica t. majore, graciliore, tenuiore, strigis corneo-fuscis distinctioribus variegata, spira longe attenuata. Anfr. \1-12\, planiores, ultimus basi di-stinctius gibbosa, obsolete sulcatus, ante aperturam valiclius costulalo-striatus. Alt. 16^-20.*-, lat. 3§-5 mm.; cdt. apert. 34^-4^, lat. apert. 2|-3| mm. Sab. Interior of North and Central Morea. 40. CLAUSILIA SCHUCHI, Rssm., see Boettger, Mon. Claus.-Sect. Albinaria, p. 102. Var. OSCARII, Thiesse, MS. (Plate XXXIV. fig. 16.) Differt a typo t. maxima, valde ventriosa, lactea unicolor, vel raro-strigillata vel punctata, anfr. 11-12, mediis fere semper lavi-bus, perist. magis expanso. Alt. 19-19|, lat. 4f-5^ mm.; alt. apert. 4j?, lat. apert. 4 mm. Hab. Vitylo and Mount Cylline, Sparta (Thiesse). This curious form cannot be separated from the little brown-striped typical C. schuchi, Rssm., of Navarino, although it has a very peculiar aspect by its great size, uniform colour, and ventricosity; but the plaits and lamellse of the mouth and the apparatus claustralis are absolutely identical in both forms. 41. CLAUSILIA INCRUSTATA, n. sp. (Plate XXXIV. fig. 17.) Perafif. C contaminatse, Rssm., var. solutse, Mouss., sed sub epi-clermicle lactea fusca; anfr. ultimus gibber e umbilicali clistinc-tiore, magis compresso instructus, prope aperturam subconstric-tus; apert. minor, angustior, sub sinulo magis compressa; perist. breviter expansum, acutum, calloso-labiatum; lam. supera longissima, acuta; infera multo altior, semilunaris, subcolumellaris, oblique intuenti non conspicua,. Alt. 154^-16, lat. 4-5 mm. ; alt. apert. 3f, lat. apert. 3-3| mm. Hab. Island of Servi or Elaphonisi (Spratt). This very peculiar shell is distinguished from C. contaminata, Rssm., by its high and long lamella supera, by its very strong lamella infera, and by the totally concealed lamella subcolumellaris. |
