Show THE MILITARY PROMENADE The Military Prom is considerably cluttered up with horse-blankets, and general opinion (husband to dame rumor) says that this is why it stinks. We never could get along with Fred Johnson and the other hup-two-three-four boys. Too much danger of getting stabbed in the shin with a shiny spur. Art Mortensen, dancing with Covey, would kill all the other dancers if he were a spur-sporting officer. Why, the Military Prom is almost as bad as Sigma Nu rushing methods. In comparison to the Junior Prom, it is just like eating at the Drug Store instead of one's own fraternity house. We have a little old mother out in Nephi who says we should stay away from them military proms. ^ush pull 'em up and tkey siaij up RHO DAMMIT RHO Founded at Ewetaw this summer by a congregation of 50-50 protagonists who are the campusocialites, after respectfully and belchingly petitioning for a chapter. Very prominent in Burping circles from the rock-bound coast of Maine to the' muscle-bound coast of Hollywood. The herring shake is perhaps the most reversed secret in the archives of this noble order. KAPPA KAPPA GAMMA The Kaygees may wash, but you ought to see some of 'em neck. And when better literature is suppressed, they will read it. Boast of a spirited Alumni who regard that a man could become a billionaire by simply inventing luminous lipstick for dark nights. They have a flock of little chickens in their back yard. They call them "soap flakes" because they Chipso. (This is a rushing supplement paid for by Lambda Phi Lambda.) Politics and Democracy Does the word "Politics" set up an unfavorable reaction in you? Whatever your reaction, you cannot escape realities. You may abate, control and even destroy some unpleasant things, but you cannot destroy politics. Here you must control. If you do control politics, there is nothing unpleasant about it. Politics should be as fine and honorable a profession as law, medicine or engineering. If your university does not give you a proper view of politics it fails in a fundamental branch of learning. Politics is the science of government; it is not, however, an exact science; and, therefore, people differ as to its fundamental premises. The history of the world shows a steady tendency toward democratic government and away from despotism, autocracies and all enslaving forms of government. The Democratic Party of America has stood, since the days of Thomas Jefferson, for the safest, sanest and most liberal type of government. Join the Junior Democratic League and get ready to do your part and get your share of the honors that come to those who serve their country intelligently. Junior Democratic League of Utah John S.
