Show INTRAMURAL HORSESHOE Intramural horseshoe has developed into a favorite with the intramural followers. Games were played in the early spring and fourteen organizations entered, making it necessary to divide into brackets. The Pi Kappa Alpha team made a clean sweep of their bracket and defeated the Sigma Pi team to claim the championship. However the Barb team by reason of default claimed to be victors and a play off will be made toward the close of the year. Gleave, Hodge, and Grant, last year's horseshoe champions, are again pitching for the Pi's, and have shown exceptional skill being able to toss ringers to a degree of 70 per cent. Webb, Mellon, Harper, and Maxfield play the farmer golf game for the Barbs and showed promise in defeating the Kappa Sigs and Army. Forecasts of the play off will promise an exciting scoring contest. The rules of the game allow for two singles teams and one doubles team. A prognostication will give the Pi Kaps a slight edge over their opponents by reason of experience and greater scoring possibilities. INTRAMURAL BASKETBALL In order to determine valuable material for the varsity squad, and to accomodate the great number of men interested in the intramural basketball the season was dividend into two halves. In the first period the play was a trifle sloppy but picked up speed and accuracy as the game progressed. A round robin method of play was inaugurated in the beginning of the season with each organization entering as many teams as they desired, and four1 brackets were formed. The Pi Kappa Alpha quintet played the Sig Pi team in the final game of the play off after defeating the Engineers team, winners in their bracket. The Sig Pi went to the finals after a victory over the Sigma Chi team. The Sigma Pi, P. K. A. battle was the best game of the season giving the fans a fine exhibition of fast court work and accurate shooting. Pi Kappa Alpha won the game and the first leg of the season by a 15 to 14 score. The accurate shooting and jumping of Corbett at center, Gleave at guard and Valentine at forward, featured the Pi Kap victory. Hodge, Valentine, Bird, Briggs, Buehner, Corbett, Gleave, Sheffield.
