Show Cannon Goates Bitner Lamoreaux White PROGRAM COMMITTEE Providing for all student body assemblies during the school year, the Program Committee has indeed had much to do. Educational, serious, and the lighter forms of entertainment, were presented every week, and proved very attractive. In addition to the weekly entertainments several matinee dances during the year were arranged by this committee. Christmas, Prom Week, and Founder's Day were the occasions celebrated. The Vice-President of the school, Virginia White, served as chairman. Her assistants were Alden Goates, Mary Bitner, Shirley Cannon and Warwick Lamoreaux. THE UNIVERSITY BOOKSTORE When the faculty members organized the University Bookstore in 1900 they probably intended that it should be a bookstore and little else, but under the leadership of capable managers since that time the scope and activities of the store have grown immeasurably. Since 1924 the Bookstore has been managed by Seibert W. Mote. The store is a co-operative institution owned by the University and controlled by the Board of Regents. The profits of the store are diverted into student channels, aid having been given to both the Stadium and the Student Union Building. Page Thirty-nine |
