Show R. 0. T. C. Military Band in formation MILITARY BAND ENLISTED MEN The military Band is composed of the entire band enrollment of the school. In recent years the band has received class "A" rating from the government because of its ability in playing and marching. Although the band is composed of students whose ability and experience is varied, as a whole it performs excellently. The band is called upon to play at all R. 0. T. C. functions and assemblies. At every football game the band provides the music and the pep for the songs and presents a colorful stunt between halves. Clarence J. Hawkins is bandmaster. The enlisted men serving the R. 0. T. C. unit at the University of Utah take care of all government property, raise and lower the school colors, instruct the rookies, and perform any one of a hundred other tasks. They have given the students much assistance during the year and have aided the officers in every possible way. Those stationed here at the University are: Sgt. A. Cowan, Gun and Motor Mechanic; Sgt. G. C. Hursh, clerk; Sgt. Wm. M. Hutton, Freshman Instructor; Sgt. John A. MacKenzie, in charge of Stables and Sgt. H. F. Fredericksen. Hickman, Palmquist, Petrovitch, Rogus.
