Show Coppock Ridges Woodruff Hanford Sawyer HOMECOMING COMMITTEE The Homecoming Day committee had one of the most important tasks of the year to perform. Four distinct entertainments were planned and carried out fully-the rally and songfest on the "U", the parade of floats, the football game, and the Homecoming Day Dance. The various fraternities and sororities, as well as the University itself, welcomed back the old grads and showed some of the advancement made in recent years. The Pilgrimage and the Parade committees assisted Earl Coppock, chairman; Douglas Woodruff, Helen Ridges, Dorothy Hanford and Tom Sawyer in the Homecoming duties. PARADE COMMITTEE Certainly an essential part of Homecoming Week, the Homecoming Parade lived up to the standards set in previous years. Every organization on the campus entered a float expressive of school spirit, and a brilliant array of bedecked cars greeted alumni back home. First prize this year was won by Phi Mu sorority, with a float symbolic of Utah's victorious football team. Other winners were the Freshman Class, Delta Epsilon, and Lambda Phi Lambda, respectively. Hazel Blood acted in the capacity of chairman. She was ably assisted by Jane Lay, Maurice Knight, and Elbert Sheffield. Page Forty |
