Show MUSIC COUNCIL The Music Council is the agency on the campus which governs all musical activities and assists the various musical ensembles in financial and other detailed matters. During the past year Arthur Freber has headed the board as chairman. Other members were: Thomas A. Giles, Clarence Hawkins, Florence Thody, Hazel Blood, and Dan Weggeland. Largely through the efforts of the Music Council, arrangements were made for the extended engagement of the Men's Glee Club at a Los Angeles and two Salt Lake City theatres and for its weekly radio programs under the auspices of a local business firm. This organization has also been featured in programs at athletic events and assemblies, and has been presented before organizations of this campus and before various civic groups. The Girls' Glee Club also has been active in rendering its selections and has become very popular with the students by presenting an entire assembly and participating in several others. This organization, too, was very well known because of its willing appearance before church and public gatherings of all types. All athletic and many other student events featured the band. The orchestra furnished music for assemblies, school plays, and the commencement exercises. The String Quartet, Men's Double Quartet, and Women's Double Quartet also co-operated at various University functions, and presented radio broadcasts, and other programs throughout the city.
