Show "Old Lady '31" "Old Lady '31" Under the direction of Professor Maud May Babcock the advanced play production class produced "Old Lady '31," a comedy in three acts. Appealing broadly to the sympathies of the audience, the play proved to be an excellent one for amateur portrayal. The publicity, properties, and staging were managed by the students. The play was excellently portrayed by Viola Canova, Grant Workman, Ray Whipple, Davis Wallace, Loretta Rich, Norma Fairbanks Marva Banks, Florence Christensen, Kathryn Griffin, and Irene Rebaleati. "The Silver Cord" A skillfully written play of a mother who entangles her sons in a mesh is "The Silver Cord," a three act drama by Sidney Howard. Mrs. Phelps, forty-five, attractive, and dangerously sweet, who is in love with her two sons, cannot bear to have them leave her. She persistently and subtly attempts to ruin their happiness. The following students acted in the play under the direction of Professor Joseph F. Smith: Ellen Christensen, Floyd Farr, Maurine Whipple, Margaret Jacobsen, Herman Eberling, and Elizabeth Reynolds.
