Show CADET COLONEL AND STAFF CADET OFFICERS The cadet officers of the R. 0. T. C. are selected each year from the advanced students of the Military Science Department. They are chosen by their standing in the department, their scholarship, and their school activities. The department makes its decisions carefully, since the success of the R.O.T.C. unit rests with the commanding officers. Athletics have an important part in the Military Science Department. The R. 0. T. C. students have polo, riding, pistol and rifle shooting facilities open to them. Great interest is taken by the students in competing in these sports. College i ? t> r\ t> /~i . r -i Colonel Johnson graduates in K. U. 1. L. are given preference in the government flying schools. The cadet officers have charge of the Military Prom, one of the brilliant social functions of the year. They present the Annual Gymkhana, which consists of mounted athletic contests and a horse show. The cadets consider the Sunrise Battalion as one of the most important activties of the year. The R. 0. T. C. has completed an unusually sucessful year. The regimental staff officers are: Fred C. Johnson, Colonel; Junius Foutz, Lieutenant Colonel; Alexander McOmie, Captain and Adjutant; Bill A. Farnsworth, Captain, and in charge of plans and training; Earl S.
