Show - Lois Keddington, Frankie Young, Ardelle Fisher, Phoebe Hansen, Lucille Allred. CADET SPONSORS The cadet sponsors are representative girls chosen by the entire R. 0. T. C. regiment each fall. The main purpose of the sponsors is to foster interest in the activities of the unit. They create a feeling of good will among the R.O.T.C. students. Their chief duty is to entertain the officer who makes the annual inspection in the spring. They also serve on the committees for the Military Prom. The cadet sponsors are: Phoebe Hanson, Regimental Sponsor and with the rank of Honorary Colonel; Ardelle Fisher, Senior Sponsor; Lucille Allred, Junior Sponsor; Lois Keddington, Sohpomore Sponsor; and Frankie Young, Freshman Sponsor. CADET OFFICERS The cadet officers of the R. 0. T. C. are selected from the Junior and Senior classes of the Military Science Department and are given a commission in rank according to the grades received in the military tests. The upper classmen of the local unit must serve a six-weeks' training period in the U. S. Training Camp at Laramie in order to fulfill the position of officers in the battalion. The work of the cadet officers also takes them into many outside fields. The military promenade held in April is under the direct supervision of the non-commissioned officers, working in conjunction with the cadet sponsors. The R. 0. T. C. unit also held a gymkhana in the late spring. R. 0. T. C. Cadet Officers Page One Hundred Sixty-one |
