Note |
The University of Utah has made former and current yearbooks from various campus entities available in print and via its digital library archive. These documents contain facts and milestones about the history of the University of Utah. In some cases, these publications contain insensitive and offensive language and imagery that does not represent the views or values of the University of Utah. Insensitive and offensive portrayals of race and gender were wrong at the time these publications were originally printed, and they are wrong today. The yearbooks are presented as they were originally created and have not been edited or censored-to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices and biases never existed. - July 2019 |

Show Stutz Orr Marshall THE UTAH ENGINEERS The Engineering school is the only undergraduate school in the University that is organized under definite officers and acts as a unit in student activities. Although the students of this school are carrying a very difficult curriculum they are well represented in activities on the campus and have fostered many very interesting dances and social events. The Utah Engineers sponsor annually an Engineer's week during which the N. G.'s cast aside their brief cases and make their presence felt on the hill. The greatest event of the week is the initiation of the senior students into the order of St. Patrick under the auspices of the Queen and her attendants. After the initiation and ceremony over the Blarney stone, the Engineers sponsored a parade through the business district led by a radio-driven car. The week was climaxed by an Engineer Ball at night and the reburial of the Blarney stone. The School is organized into freshmen and upperclassmen for the purpose of promoting better feeling between the new students and those who have been in the school for a period of time. The officers of the Utah Engineers are James Orr, president; William Marshall, vice president; and Clifford Stutz, secretary and treasurer. The Freshmen elected El Moin Kirkham, president; Fred Allen, vice president; and Clinton Ring, secretary and treasurer. Alle Ring Kirkham Page One Hundred Two |
