Caflîni dans le Zodiaque , qu'on ne foupçonnoit pas d'abord devoir être fî évidente , & qui, félon Tliypothefe de cet Aftronome, devoit paroître alors autour du Soleil, comme une chevelure, ou comme une longue & large queue de Comète. On fe fixe donc ici à cette opinion, que Ton tâche de mettre dans tout fon jour. On remarque , outre cela, „ Que le dit 3> que de la Lune renfermé dans cette cou-5, ronne lumineufe , étoit de couleur de terre 3, d'ombre , & fî également obfcurci dam » toute fa furface, qu'avec les yeux & avec 5> les plus grandes Lunettes, on ne pouvoity 3) difiinguer la moindre chofe : Qu'on avoit » déjà découvert Venus, avant que le Soleil )5 fût entièrement éclipfé, mais qu'on ne vit 5, Mercure,qu'après l'entier obfcurcîflementj 3, de même que Saturne, que le peu de durée 3, de l'obicurité totale ne permit pas d'obfèrvcr 33 avec la grande Lunette, comme on vou-„ loit le faire : Qu'on vit auffi l'œil du Tau-» reau , & plufîeurs Etoiles au Nord & au 3> Sud, & en différentes parties du Ciel : Qi1^ a, l'inflant du recouvrement de lumière 5 qul 3> fe fit avec une très-grande rapidité, le So; 33 leil fortit comme un Point lumineux? qUI* 3, donna d'abord un grand jour ; & QHC a» pendant le xefie de i'édipfe, le bord oc- |
