A few other species, such as "Megascolex sanctce Jielence" of Baird, may belong to this genus. A number of forms described by Schmarda ' as Perichceta have been shown by subsequent investigators not to belong to that genus as now defined but to Megascolex. Prof. Spencer 2 and Mr. Fletcher3 described under the name of " Perichceta" worms wiiich belong to other genera and were only provisionally placed in Perichceta.
