This species readily be distinguished from any other of its genus by the entire absence of a dark discoidal spot from both surfaces of both wings in each sex, and by the presence of a double row of yellow or orange spots, unaccompanied by any dark markings, on the underside of the hind wing. It is probably a " dry-season " form, and perhaps most nearly recalls the dry-season B. abgssinica Luc, but it is far less heavily marked.
