This specimen differs considerably from the type ; but I do not hesitate to refer it to the same species, as an adult male in full plumage. Entire head, neck, back, scapulars, and least series of wing-coverts glossy violet shaded blue-black ; remainder of the wings and the tail black glossed with dark green, with no violet shade. Beneath, the purple-black of the head and neck extends from the chin over the front half and centre of the chest; remainder of the breast and under tail-coverts creamy white, with the flanks, axillaries, and under surface of the wings black.
