Show 4192 McDonald- D 2212 Q While you were at Hite did you ever see the mail come in? A No, I never did. Q I was asking you about this last trip into Glen canyon. Did you ever do any more mining in Glen canyon after the Stanton dredge? A Yes, I placer mined in there. MR. FARSWORTH: I think the witness said he never was back there except to Lees Ferry after this experience. MR. BLACKMAR: You can ask him about that further if you want to. Q When were you back there to do any placer mining,-- was it before or after you ceased to operate the dredge? A Oh, it was after. Q Can you tell me about how many years? A Yes, it was four or five years after. Q And at what point did you go? A I went in from Escalante and back out; we went horseback with a pack outfit above, to Escalante, then in again about half way between where the dredge was and the San Juan. Q How long did you stay in there that time? A Stayed in there nearly three months, then back home. We were doing what we call sniping. We used what we call a crevicing iron.
