A We had a man with us who owned the boat at that point, and he took some of our party down the river fifteen miles to Fort Bottoms. Q What was the name of that man that owned the boat? A Tidwell, of Greenriver, Utah. Q What was his boat doing down there in the canyon? A He had been using them there on the river, from Greenriver down to that point. Q What kind of boat was it? A Small row boat, sixteen foot long. Q Then in that boat you went down about fifteen miles? A Yes sir. Q And in that fifteen miles did you encounter any sandbars or have any difficulties? A With an empty boat, only two men in the boat, they went down without any trouble. Q Did you go with them? A No sir, I went along the trail with the rest of the outfit, with the pack outfit.
