Show 4311 Loper- D 2332 hardest work I ever done, to get that boat up there. Q Through that seventeen miles were there any rapids? A No sir. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q What month was that? A I imagine that was in September -- now, hold on, -- yes, that was in September. There was a picture here, 373, that shows us going up the river. Q What stage was the water? A It was very low, there was reefs across there that wasn't four inches deep, because Mr. Miser was a big man, and I wasn't so little, it took about all we had to go up there in two days, seventeen miles. Q Is that the picture ( indicating)? A Yes, that is it. THE SPECIAL MASTER: The witness refers to Exhibit 373. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Mr. Loper, just look at this picture and tell me what that dark sort of ridge is, right behind that rock. A I can't tell what is; I don't know; looks like a bank. Q Between the edge of the picture and the rock, is that sand? A Yes, that is sand. |
