Show 4305 Loper- D 2326 in July, maybe the latter part of July. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Did you observe any other differences between the situation concerning the river between 1895 and when you returned I in 1921, outside of this Indian Farms situation? A I don't understand Q Were there any other changes in the river outside of this Indian Farms change? A Yes, I told you about taking my boat out of the river at Grand Gulch and taking it up through. Q Grant Gulch? A Yes. Q Let's get that located. Where is that? A Grand gulch is seventy- one miles from the junction of the Colorado. I told you about taking my boat up around these rocks. I was telling the outfit about that a beautiful rapid we had at the mouth of Grand gulch; when we got to Grand gulch my rapid was gone; we had a little rapid there, but the great big boulders, fifteen or twenty feet square, had disappeared. Q Any other changes you call to mind that are worthy of note? Q No; I will tell you, -- at the Indian Farms the river came down and hit the bank and run off this way ( indicating); we was camped here ( indicating); the talus slope came down and made a four or five foot bank; I had my boat tied there |
