Show 4137 McDonald- D 2157 A No, I don't think so. It might have had; it was just from one town to another, the wagon road. Q When you got through down there at Fort Mojave, then where did you go? A Fort Mojave -- I stayed around there and worked, around Hardyville, went through with the outfit to Pete Springs, back again, fooled around there, then started back with an old trapper named Smith -- Q Before you get to that, what were you doing around this town of Hardyville? A I was herding cattle, mining, prospecting. Q Was Hardyville on the Colorado river? A Right on the Colorado river, yes. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q What state? MR. BLACKMAR: Arizona. A Right in Arizona. THE SPECIAL MASTER: Just over the line, was it? BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Just over the line, isn't it, Hardyville? A Over the line? No, Hardyville is on the Arizona side, see, but the ferry crossed right there, and came on to the California side -- the Nevada side, right there where the line is, because the trail went up the Nevada side. There was no trail up the Arizona side. |
