Anterior antennae two-jointed. The first free thoracic joints lobed laterally, second without lobes, third prolonged backwards by two dorsal plates. Genital segment elongated. Abdomen small. Bostrum long; palp articulate. Fourth thoracic joint free, without dorsal plates. Genital segment obcordate. Abdomen biarticulate, with small caudal plates. All four thoracic limbs biramose and biarticulate. This genus was made by Steen-strup from a male only ; but in tbe Coll. Brit. Mus. there are a large number of specimens, some with external ovaries attached, which I have examined and have no doubt of their identity: therefore the genus is allowed to stand. |
