Show SHIRLEY V. Elected JENSEN 1992 V. Jensen was born March 25, 1953 in Detroit, Michigafi. She Taylor Center High School in Michigan and earned her B.S in Microbiology from the University of Michigan where she participated in Cheerleading and Gymnastics. She is now working on her B.S. in Political Science at the University of Utah. Shirley went to Rep. Jensen is married to Larry R. Jensen and has three sons and daughters. She and Larry work in Business Development for THE New England. She is also a Home Engineer and a Sales Rep. for Financial Products and a Lecturer at Development and Leadership two Seminars. Jensen has been involved in the community in numerous ways. She is involved in the Women's State Legislative Council, the Salt Lake County Detention Board, the Drug and Alcohol Abuse Task Force and the Utah Association of Women. She is a Juvenile Offender Counselor, a PTA Leader and instructor at Political, Community and Church Seminars and is active in church activities. She was Rep. First Runner-up Mrs. district. Utah, and the first woman legislator from her Shirley has had considerable experience in Republican political She belongs to the State Party Education Committee and was a Sandy Republican Club Officer. She is a Candidate Development Officer for Professional Republican Women. She also belongs to the Utah Woman's federation and the Salt Lake Rrepublican Club. She was a Co-Chair for Candidate Training Seminars from 1989-1990, and a member of the Lincoln Day Dinner committee. She was also a County and State Convention Delegate. activities. Utah House of Representatives in and Local Affairs, and Human and Health Appropriations Committees. Rep. Jensen 1992 and Services was serves elected on to the Education, State Shirley feels very strong about education. She has worked on the Strategic Plan for Education and wants to implement for great improvements in the competence of our students.
